Comic of the Day: Agnes!

History of Agnes and Tony Cochran : Agnes spoke to him from his sketchbook. Delving into the life of someone yearning to stand out and be noticed, Cochran mirrors the ramifications of growing up in today’s society. Agnes lives in a state of delicious angst, a child of meager means trying to define her place in the world. Cochran offers a funny, poignant glimpse of Agnes, and anyone like her, who dreams of a world bigger than their own. Agnes launched in the newspapers on March 8, 1999, and is now syndicated worldwide.

In this comic, I believes Agnes the dark-haired, big shoed, girl is saying that If Ads were in the image of her that she could make them popular kinda like Jessica Simpson with Proactiv or Micheal Jordan with Gatorade! It’s funny because her friend says that th product whatever it maybe will be really hip too.. He’s just commenting her on her idea! Which isn’t her idea after all! What product would you endorse if you had the chance?? Mine:: Chocolate. Because we all know I love Chocolate! :)

Now, If I got a call I would go investigate the tip, and if I tried to aid the situation by checking the environment out, and I got push that violates my job. There’s no reason to treat an officer that way unless you have something to hide. What are your thoughts?? Comment below.

Comic Strip History 101

author and caricature artist Rodolphe Toepffer is considered the father of the modern comic strips. He illustrated stories such as “Histoire de M. Vieux Bois”, first published in the USA in 1842 with” The Adventures of Obadiah Oldbuck” or “Histoire de Monsieur Jabot”, inspired later generations of German and American comic artists. In 1865 Wilhelm Busch’s “Max und Moritz” introduced in German papers. This strip had a direct influence on Rudolph Dirks who would plagiarize the strip for the Katzenjammer Kids. Then the first newspaper association, A.N. Kellogg News Company, was established in the U.S. consolidated during the last days of the Civil War for faster news reporting. Then the comics started to form starting in 1894 the first color newspaper page was published in the New York Recorder. One week later, in the New York World under Joseph Pulitzer publishes its first color page. Then “The Little Bears” by James Swinnerton begins in the San Francisco Examiner under William Randolph Hearst. Richard Felton Outcault’s “Yellow Kid” makes his first appearance in Pulitzer’s the World in1895. Then a year later in 1896, The “Yellow Kid” was published weekly. And in one year after that R.F.Outcault moves from Pulitzer’s “The World” to Hearst’s “Examiner”. Then Hearst’s “Journal American” establishes the Sunday comics, but called then “American Humorist” and it featured Outcault’s “Yellow Kid” and then finally Dirk’s “Katzenjammer Kids” makes their first appearance.
